Good Faith Estimates

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and facilities must inform individuals of their right to request a “Good Faith Estimate.” This applies for individuals who are uninsured, not enrolled in a health plan or federal health care program, or not choosing to use their insurance

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that explains how much your medical care is expected to cost. This applies to non-emergency services and does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may develop during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
